[plot] where's the bloody gore?
There's a huge lack of zombies in the KHR! fandom. So I'm asking for different views on zombies, so if you love me, please tell me! There's some people who think they can only limp slowly, rather than run, only have the sense of smell and hearing and hate loud, booming music. Some think they're fast, have most senses, can walk through water without any trouble and are really violent. There's a few where just getting the blood of the infected undead on your skin can turn you into one of them, whilst others you have to consume the blood or just be, typically, bitten.

I always like the idea of them being blind and relying on smell and hearing more than others. I don't know what else yet... >.> I do know I'm not going to skip over the disgusting details and the violence, oho. (The story is going to be a D18 AU, as always, and I'm going to have fun killing off all of the characters.)

Just a friendly question. Have you seen the "Monster Tamer Tsuna" segments?
『栄美。』: pic#115952537aimeeshii on March 9th, 2012 11:55 am (UTC)
I've seen that, yup. I don't really want that kind of story, though. That's more crack.
「♔ 鈴。」seireeii on March 9th, 2012 09:21 pm (UTC)
So then, as people have said already, you want one like High-School of the Dead? That would be interesting, to say the least. Please write something like that. I'm working on a few fics right now, and I need inspiration for my PMMM one. Zombies seem to be much like Madoka's Witches, don't you think?
『栄美。』: pic#116362390aimeeshii on March 9th, 2012 09:27 pm (UTC)
I think the story would be better without all of the implied smut, boobs and fanservice in general, though. Madoka's witches are just... odd. I can't see them turning into cannibals. If you actually replied on Yahoo! we could brainstorm.

Yeah. I was really disgusted by the boobs and fanservice too. I mean, it would've been alright if the boobs were shown every once in a while, like every other anime, but no, they had to take to the extreme. God, and those girls aren't even that pretty. Madoka's Witches are amazing. I'm like, in love with at least three of them. I'm writing a fic about one now. And your first chapter blew my mind. Literally. I have no brain cells left after that.
Rinrin_harui on March 9th, 2012 04:45 am (UTC)
For me, I think that zombies are slow creatures and always make those... Noise? (like, Aaaa or something, I am not sure how to describe. lol.)

And they are blind, have an extremely good sense of hearing and smell. Which is why to avoid attracting their attention, we shouldn't make any noise when nearby them. Or even breathe!

They are really strong (their grips are impossible to get away from unless you chop off their arms, lol) and are very violent of course and they would most likely be like piranhas when in groups and are attacking their victim.

As for infecting, either bite or in some cases, getting blood on the skin.

Hmm... What else...
I don't think I have much to add actually. Sorry. ^^;;

But I hope I make sense? XD I think while writing that, I picturise the Zombies in HighSchool of the Dead. :D

Are you making a fanfic? If you are then all the best with it~ I am looking forward to reading it. :D
『栄美。』: pic#116362390aimeeshii on March 9th, 2012 11:58 am (UTC)
You have such good taste in zombies! (That seems really weird to type!) I guess for the getting blood on the skin bit, if the skin was inflamed or scratched so it had contact to the, uh, inner goodies?

I loved Highschool of the Dead's zombies! They were really good examples and weren't bloody sprinting across the screen after the characters.

Yup, I'm writing one! Planning to get the first chapter done for today or tomorrow.

I'm too scared of zombies to tell you anything useful ;__;. But I think biting is the most common, and they kind of move fast/slow depending on how badly they're decomposed.
『栄美。』: pic#116362389aimeeshii on March 9th, 2012 11:59 am (UTC)
If you ever decomposed, I'd still love you, Tutu. ;O;

Zombies huh... My perspective of zombies has always been: slow-paced, blind, relies on sense of smell, gets up no matter how many times it's beaten unless heart or brain is depacitated, and you turn into one yourself when bitten by one.

I think that's all? Just the usual cliche. In terms of their strength, I guess it'd depend on the zombie itself and his or her lifestyle when they were still alive.
『栄美。』: pic#116099252aimeeshii on March 9th, 2012 12:01 pm (UTC)
There's really no such thing as a cliché any more, at least not in zombie films. There's so many where the zombies can sprint across the screen despite how badly injured or decomposed it is. >.> I hate them portrayals, to be honest.

Useless baby zombies. You'll be dead, little ones. ;O;

Since I saw the movie "28 weeks later" where zombies run after you and bite you while you're still screaming for your life. I've grown an extreme dislike and fear for zombies like that. Lol. Before, I always saw zombies as the slow type but now, tsk. It's just plain horrifying. |||OTL

Anyway, even though that's how I view them now, doesn't mean I don't watch zombie movies anymore. I'm currently into "The Walking Dead." It's a good horror suspense series. :)
『栄美。』: pic#115448515aimeeshii on March 9th, 2012 08:20 pm (UTC)
Yeah, that movie was a bit ridiculous. I can't really imagine the undead running after you full speed and they're... you know, decomposing slowly.

Haha! I actually think The Walking Dead is pretty bad. It's a thousand times better than the original comic (which has god awful drawings and even more ridiculous situations) but I'm still not a big fan. I watched the whole first seaon in a night last year and just haven't got round to the second one. >.>

Well, it has its good points and bad points. There's just a lot of drama. I only really begun to watch it because someone recorded it. Lol. But I agree, it's not really the type of series where you just have-to-watch-the-next-episode kind of thing. I just let it pile up and when I have time I watch it.
『栄美。』: pic#116295037aimeeshii on March 10th, 2012 04:46 pm (UTC)
Drama, drama, drama! Would you recommend the second series or shall I just skip out? lol.
優香 Yuka: P4 - Player Advantage! ✪eternalilith on March 10th, 2012 04:43 pm (UTC)
I'm not sure if there's any accurate list of capabilities that zombies are supposed to have, so I'm just going to shoot this off based on my imagination, things that I've seen and read about.

Physical attributes:

Head is probably heavy with the skull and its contents, so chances of them having their head bent forward or behind is higher than being upright. Eyeballs or lack-there-of would be dry, or sticky with some sticky layer due to coagulation or something. Mouths are likely to be opened than closed, so there should be drooling, everywhere LOL. I wouldn't be surprised to see flies and maggots making it their homes since it's dark and damp. Hair can be easily torn off the scalp, so when battle ensues, chances of them being bald are higher. Limbs are tough and stiff, considering muscle cells and everything else is dead. As such, they hit hard with no safety switches, which often results in strength beyond any normal human capacity and probably tearing off some part of themselves in the process. Their skins would be in the decomposition stage, but either really dry and flaky, or sticky and/or bloody.

Abilities and mental attributes:

Movement speed would base on their physical attributes, I think. A sports person versus an office worker who became zombies; it's more likely that the sports person would move and react a lot faster towards its surroundings. In terms of attacking accuracy, I suppose that would apply as well.

It's quite strange to think why they wouldn't attack their own kind, as if they were wearing a T-shirt that says, "I'm a zombie too". As such, I'd like to think that they do have heat sensors that allow them to detect any potential lifeforms that might pose as a threat towards them. Because of this, it's easy to run, but you can never hide. Perhaps they can smell blood, and hear moving things, but won't they get confused with their own kind as well? Um, just a thought anyway.

With regards to how they navigate their surroundings, I like the term "to go with the crowd". If they have echolocation that allows them to avoid obstacles and such, that's fine by me. I see it as a major gathering of heat sensors forming a radar of sorts, that tracks down potential prey or assailants. Since they do not have any form of intelligence left to formulate plans and such, being in large numbers is the safest way to ensure their kind remains present to help out any who are in need. Walk through forests and water, no problem, unless they've lost their limbs!

Infecting others:

Getting killed by them is a guaranteed way of joining their team, which has been a recurring theme in many stories and games. The one about getting their blood on a human skin to make them infected sounds like an epidemic of sorts, which is actually plausible. I think I'd want to up the stakes a little further: as long as their bodily fluids are in contact with your bloodstream, it's sooner or later that you lose your sanity. To me, I don't think they kill because they want to populate. Rather, they kill because they're afraid of losing their existence. They probably can't help it if people they've killed turns into one of them as well, but I'd like to believe they do not hunt for living humans to expand their army or anything of the sort. They're just wandering wherever their group takes them, and if they sense hostility, they strike, hard.

I'm sorry for writing such a lengthy post and that there's no evidence or anything to back up my claims. >.> Well, it's my two cents to the topic and hope it'll help in your fic development!
『栄美。』: pic#116295045aimeeshii on March 10th, 2012 04:56 pm (UTC)
Your opinion on the undead is basically what I think in my mind; I agree with mostly all of it. The reason I think you never see the undead attacking each other because of what you said, heat sensors. They're dead and decomposing so there's no chance that there's any warmth within them, unless, of course, they get set slightly on fire. But then they could at least be smart enough to realise that it's not any life form that is edible.

I never really thought of why they grouped together before now. They don't really have, uh, working brains, do they? So if they go together, if one catches a whiff of someone delectable, it makes sense that they're all nothing.

I will make sure to use your ideas for this fic! 8D Best answer I've got so far, Nee-sama!

Any character you want me to kill off? LOL.

I never really thought about Reborn appearing in the story! I know he has to, but anyone reading would want him to be the leader when he's not the main character! Then there's the cliché rival group leader. I'm not too sure. >.>

I've seen that done before, too! I don't really know what else there is to do. >.> Rival groups, rescue teams and just people they run into are used. And also there's the issue of where they're going to go; in the story so far they're in an apartment building, and usually the group goes to a supermarket or somewhere else. I don't want somewhere normal. LOL.
